Name: Eli Stone
Age: 19
Gender: Male
History: Eli lived with a strange family, in a strange town, but he loved everything about his life. His mother was a teacher, and she home schooled Eli, just so they could spend more time together. She was young and lively, she also loved everything about their life. His father had died in a forgotten war, but his memory lived on. Eli only met him once, but he didn't remember anything. His mother never grieved, she celebrated the life he lived. She never remarried after his death, but her father came from another village to help support the family. He was a loving and caring man, and he adored his grandson. They lived happily together, without a care in the world. Everything was perfect, until that day in the market.
Eli loved going to the market with his mother, he loved to watch the people, and see how they lived their lives. But as he was watching the people of the town work, he got separated from his mother. He panicked, and ran about the town, searching for her. The town acted strangely as this occurred, mimicking his acts. His fear was on the face of every person he passed. He felt that something had gone very wrong, and the townspeople weren't making anything better. His panic grew, as did the towns, and people began to lash out at every little problem.
But Eli did find his mother, and it was much too late. A mugger had shot and killed her. Her cold limp body lay peacefully in an alleyway. Eli knew she was dead. And he too, felt dead. He was desperate to find that he was wrong. But he wasn't. He stared at the sky for guidance, only to be faced with a dark storm. And at that time, his world stopped. The pouring rain around him became silent His angry tears matched the rain as he walked back through the town. He didn't notice that the town was quiet, he didn't notice that the people had disappeared. Instead, he walked home, staring at the ground the whole way. It was when he reached the rundown shack he called home that he realized something was very, very wrong.
The house was dark, but the horrid sight before him was clear. The grandfather he knew and loved so dearly could be seen from the front door. The blood painted the walls around him, his body stone cold and stiffer than wood. The old man had shot himself, the bullet entered the jaw and exited from the top of his skull. He was sitting upright in the chair, so Eli could see the horrid wounds. The young boy was frightened, frightened about everything that had happened. He was only six, he'd never seen a dead body before, let alone two in one day, and one this gory. His instincts took over, and he ran right into a large man.
His name was Gordy. He wasn't from Eli's town, he traveled a lot, selling rare goods. He was passing through Eli's town when he noticed the bodies. Curious about the deaths, he had looked through every building, searching for survivors and the cause of such a tragedy. The town, to him, looked like a war zone. He was about to give up on survivors when Eli ran into him. The young boy was crying, crying and shaking like he had witnessed the worst crimes committed. Which, in this town, was probably the case. Gordy hadn't even known about this town. He held the boy, comforted him in this tragic time. And he took Eli in.
They never talked much about the events that had occurred, but a strong friendship grew between them nonetheless. Gordy, though he was a traveling merchant, had a home in a village not too far away. He took Eli back there, to raise him himself. Gordy knew what the orphanages were like, he had been an orphan himself. He would never wish that lonely life on anyone. So he became Eli's fatherly figure, and taught him how to survive in this cold world. He enjoyed spending time with Eli, and Eli enjoyed time with Gordy. But as they spent time together, Gordy realized that something was different with Eli. Every emotion Eli felt was reflected upon Gordy. And if that emotion Eli felt was strong enough, things would happen. What happened depended on what emotion he felt. If he were angry, fire was easier to make. If he were sad, it either rained a lot, or the area around him would die. If he was happy, then it was sunny, and the area would be lively. Gordy knew, that for the sake of those around him, Eli would have to give up on emotion all together.
So he taught him. He taught him control, and how to forget emotion. Eli never understood why he taught him such things, but since it was Gordy, he knew that there was a reason, a reason that maybe he didn't have to know. And they were happy. Even if Eli was going through hard times, they were both happy. Gordy couldn't give up on work, he didn't have the money. So instead of leaving Eli alone, he took him on his travels. Eli learned much about what towns were good and what towns were better avoided, what people paid more for and what they wrinkled they're noses at. Eli stayed with Gordy for two years, before another tragedy hit.
They were at a different town, staying at a hotel for the night. Eli had never been here before, and as always, he was happy, just because he was with Gordy. But Gordy was worried. He was very uncomfortable about where they were at, and Eli could sense it. Eli soon became as worried as Gordy, concerned for Gordy's wellbeing. He had never acted like that, never. And it scared him shitless. Well, in the middle of the night, what worried Gordy became apparent. It was a group of men, all carrying guns, bats, one even with a chainsaw. What they wanted wasn't clear to Eli, but it was to Gordy. And whatever they wanted, Gordy wouldn't let them have it.
He hid Eli in the closet, and told him not to watch, nor to come out. No matter what happened. Eli, curious about why Gordy was so worried about some people, watched as they entered the room. There were five of them, about the same size as Gordy, muscular, and foreign. The leader spoke to Gordy in a different tongue, one that Eli didn't understand. As the man spoke, the others around him cheered and waved their weapons around. Gordy, who became angry, spoke in their language as well. And the cheering stopped. Eli wasn't sure what was said, but the group didn't like it. The leader spoke once more, in a demanding tone, and Gordy refused once again. And the group attacked. They tackled him, began to beat on him with their weapons. Eli was shocked. He wanted so much to stop the men, but Gordy was staring at him through the crack in the closet door. He didn't try to fight back, that's what shocked Eli the most. He just laid there, as the men beat him to a pulp. Eli opened the door a bit more, reaching out to Gordy as far as he could, not caring if the men saw or not. And Gordy reached back. Eli thought he was gonna make it, until the men turned on the chainsaw. And Gordy died in the most gruesome way. They cut him up, limb by limb. And Eli saw the whole thing. The men still hadn't noticed him, even though he had walked out of the closet. He stopped before Gordy's body, and stared down at the mangled, bloody mess. Then he glared up at the men, and let out the loudest scream he possibly could.
The men looked down upon Eli, laughing. They spoke in their foreign tongue, one picked up Eli and started waving him around, laughing all the way. But Eli wasn't afraid anymore. His anger radiated from him like fire, but the men took no notice. Until the light above Eli exploded. The men silenced, staring up at the broken bulb as if it sprouted antlers. And then the man holding Eli collapsed, clutching his heart. Eli fell to the ground with the man, but got up straight away, never breaking eye contact with the leader. The other men started to freak out over the dead man, screaming and running about. But Eli paid no attention to them, instead, he watched as the broken bulb caught fire, and how that fire spread through the room, engulfing all of the men in flames.
It took a while for the men to die, but they eventually did. Eli knelt down in front of Gordy's mangled body, staring into the electric blue eyes that never closed. Though the fire spread throughout the room, the only things that were affected were the men. And Eli smiled at this fact. This must have been why Gordy taught him how to forget emotion. The young boy sighed, closing Gordy's eyes. He then took Gordy's traveling pack, and walked out into the rain, never to look back.
After that, he continued Gordy's business. He earned money, and took care of himself from then on. But a few years after Gordy's death, an odd man came across his booth. He was tall, had crazy white hair with a giant bald spot, wore glasses that made his eyes look much larger than they really were, and had electric blue eyes, like Gordy. He was a chemist, and he was looking for something Eli couldn't give. He needed an apprentice, one with true potential. Why he picked Eli from the crowd, only god knew. Eli refused more than once, but the chemist wouldn't take no for an answer. So, giving up, Eli went to live with this stranger.
It turned out that this was the man that raised Gordy as a boy, and he too was gifted. This man had a strong sense of telepathy, and somehow knew everything that happened to Gordy and Eli. When Eli asked for a name, he only told him he wanted to be called Cork((e.e I got it from Gates of Andaron... dun ask >)) Eli never thought they'd get along, but in time, a friendship grew. It wasn't nearly as strong as his and Gordy's, but it was a friendship. Cork taught him many things about chemistry, and told him that it would be useful in the future. Eli always wondered how this man knew what he did, but Cork refused to talk about his past.
Finally, when Eli was 14, Cork predicted his own death. Later that day, it came true. He had said that he would be crushed, but Eli didn't believe him. Cork joked around a lot, so he thought nothing of it. But when he heard the crashing and screams from the other room, he saw that the old man was actually right about something. A machine that Cork was working on had fallen on him, instantly killing him. By now Eli was tired of loosing his friends, and he considered living alone, but Cork's maid insisted he go to a boarding school she knew of. So he went to that school, only to shut the maid up, and ended up liking it. The maid came to the school with him, saying she needed a new job, one that payed better money. She became the nurse((hahaha xD)).
And to this day, Eli now puts his knowledge to good use. He aims to find a cure to mutation, so all gifteds had the choice. His emotions became his prison, his hell. He's not sure if he can create this cure, but he will stop at nothing until he finds one.
Personality: He shuts himself away from the world, to protect others from getting hurt. He despises people, and he hates public places. He misses Gordy dearly, even if he only knew him for two years. He refuses to be anywhere near other people, not only to protect them, but to keep the quiet. He's unsure about being at the school, with all the people, but he knows it's needed to learn how to control his power better, and to find a cure.
Likes: Rain, the quiet.
Dislikes: People, loud noise, everything else @.@
Family:
Mother-deceased
Grandfather-deceased
Gordy-deceased
Powers:Control over emotions. His emotions influence stuffers, so he himself has to remain emotionless at all times. Slight mind control.
Other: He will never forget Gordy, his first and last true friend. @.@ he's also really good in alchemy and chemistry. And yush, Cork was Gordy's real father^^ he was just afraid of what Gordy would think, so he kept it a secret. He didn't like the fact that his wife had given up the child before she died :/
